Speaking Test Practice Texts

You know what they say, 'Practice makes perfect'. Though 'perfect' may be a little too much, practice is always good for whatever you try to achieve in life.
In order to help you get a great mark in your Speaking test, I'm posting these sample texts. Be warned! They're a bit longer than the ones you'll get in the actual exam and there are only Student A & B versions. If you're practising in groups of 3, the 3rd person can monitor the other two and give them feedback about what they did well or badly.
Remember, the 3 key words are:
- Fluent
- Structured
- Complete
...and keep your language in control at all times!

Wish you the best of luck!

Season's Greetings... and homework

Hi everyone!

I hope you're having a nice holiday. For those of you who weren't able to come on the last day, here's the things you can do if you've got time for English:

(1) Things fall apart. You need to read the second part of the book (Chapters 9 to 16) by the second week of January. When we're back, we'll set a day to discuss some of the topics included in those chapters.

(2) Narratives dossier. A set of exercises designed to make your stories more detailed and sound more advanced. Focused on vocabulary. This is the KEY, to the exercises, but we'll have a look at some exercises in class.

(3) Write a story. Write a story of about 150-180 words containing ONE of the following sentences:
    - It was the worst flight I had ever experienced.
    - I would never go back there again.
    - "You're fired!" he souted.

Remember to use different techniques in your text:
   - Write a good beginning/ending: See techniques here
   - Use advanced vocabulary for simple words (good, nice, say, run, etc.)
   - Use adverbs in -ly
   - Use a variety of verb tenses (Past Simple/Continuous/Perfect/Perfect Continuous...).

(4) Grammar & Vocabulary review. A set of review exercises.

Obviously, you don't have to do every single exercise. You decide what you want to do.
That's all. See you again on 8 January!
